We are engaged! Ok so I finally got motivated to begin our wedding blog but for those that don't know the story yet, here it is!
Brook proposed to me at the Dicken's Christmas Faire on December 20th, 2009. After many days of spending many hours working on our costumes for the faire and after receiving very little sleep the night before, I was exhausted in frustrated tears and almost didn't even go to the faire. Brook begs me to go, insisting all my family will be there and I will feel better once I see all of them.
Once we arrive, Brook is continually disappearing which confuses me being that she insisted I came and then doesn't even hang out with me.
My best friend (and one of my Maids of Honour) insists on seeing the pirate band perform since she is good friends with one of them. The whole family (my parents, my sister and her family, Brook's sister and her boyfriend, Brook's uncle, and my best friend) all trek over to see the show.
After the first song, one of the band members starts talking their new "cabin boy" and "shipping out" and calls Brook on stage to say good-bye to her loved ones. At this point, I am so confused as I can't figure out how they knew her name. She then calls me up on stage and, while uncontrollably shaking, she gets down on one knee. It finally clicks though I am still in shock. We are both shaking as she puts the ring on my finger and then kiss. Everyone in the audience cheered for us as we then took our seats.
It was absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier. I am head of heels in love and can't wait to begin the next chapter of our life together.
